1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MediaSqueeze at media-squeeze.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of Service
MediaSqueeze is a web-based tool for processing video and image files. Features include video compression, cinemagraph creation, audiogram generation, aspect-ratio reframing, split-screen remixing (side-by-side, picture-in-picture, sequence, intercut), and velocity editing with speed ramping and pan/zoom animation. The Service processes files you upload and makes results available for download.
3. Account and Authentication
You must sign in with a Google account via Auth0 to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. You may not share your session or allow others to use the Service through your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Credits and Payments
The Service operates on a credit-based system. Some features require credits to use. Credits may be purchased through Stripe. Credit costs per feature are displayed in the interface before job submission. Credits are deducted when a job is submitted; if a job fails during processing, credits are automatically refunded. Purchased credits are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. We reserve the right to change credit pricing at any time; changes do not affect credits already purchased.
5. Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to files you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant MediaSqueeze a limited, temporary license to store and process the file solely for the purpose of completing your requested job. This license terminates when the file is deleted (automatically after 30 days, or earlier upon your request). We do not claim any ownership of your content and do not use it for training, marketing, or any other purpose.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload, process, or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or harmful
- Upload content that contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or underlying infrastructure
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service at scale without permission
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
- Resell or redistribute the Service or credits without authorization
- Circumvent usage limits, credit requirements, or authentication mechanisms
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice or refund.
7. File Storage and Retention
Uploaded input files and processed output files are stored in Amazon S3 and are automatically deleted after 30 days. It is your responsibility to download output files before they expire. We are not responsible for files that become unavailable after the retention period. Job metadata (filename, format, status, timestamps) is retained in our database to support your account history.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. Scheduled maintenance or unexpected outages do not entitle you to a refund of credits.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MediaSqueeze and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MediaSqueeze and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Intellectual Property
The MediaSqueeze name, logo, interface design, and underlying technology are the property of MediaSqueeze. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service itself. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described here.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violation of these Terms, abuse of the Service, or inactivity. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits are forfeited upon termination unless required otherwise by applicable law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco County, California.
