1. Who We Are
MediaSqueeze ("we", "us", "our") is a web-based video and image optimization service operated at media-squeeze.com. For questions about this policy, contact us at mwcarriga@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google via Auth0, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We store your Auth0 user identifier to associate your account with your jobs and credit balance. We do not store your Google password.
Media uploads
Files you upload (video, audio, images) are stored in Amazon S3. Input and output files are automatically deleted after 30 days via an S3 lifecycle policy. We do not review, share, or use your uploaded media for any purpose other than processing the job you submitted.
Job metadata
We store job records in Amazon DynamoDB, including: job ID, filename, output format, processing status, creation timestamp, and your user ID. These records are used to display your job history and enable downloads.
Payment information
Credit purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe provides us with a transaction ID and confirmation of payment so we can credit your account. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
Automatically collected data
We collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and operational purposes. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: authenticate your account, process media conversion jobs you submit, manage your credit balance, display your job history, enable file downloads, send transactional communications (e.g., payment receipts via Stripe), and maintain security and uptime of the service.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to operate:
5. Cookies
We use browser local storage to persist your Auth0 authentication session so you don't have to sign in on every visit. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. Stripe may set cookies during the checkout flow; refer to their privacy policy for details.
6. Data Retention
Uploaded input files and processed output files are automatically deleted from S3 after 30 days. Job metadata records in DynamoDB are retained to support your account history but do not contain the media files themselves. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
7. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Files in S3 are encrypted at rest using AWS server-side encryption. Access to AWS resources is restricted by IAM policies. Authentication tokens are managed by Auth0 with industry-standard security practices.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing mwcarriga@gmail.com. If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Children's Privacy
MediaSqueeze is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of MediaSqueeze after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
